| A brief run through the shop's history in Madrid |
When we rehabilitated the old silversmith factory in the heart of the Salamanca neighbourhood years ago, in order to establish Vinçon Madrid, we knew that a shop in an interior courtyard wasn't at all usuall. And we thought...
What better place than an interior area to sell interior products?
So the project took off and despite the fact that we're so hidden away, you've been able to find us.
"We must admit that Vinçon is a slow paced company. A small glimpse at our history shows us that what others achieve in little time, for us is a lot more difficult. Our arrival in Madrid is no exception".
These words are a prologue to present the Madrid shop, followed by other words that tell, with the irony which characterizes Vinçon's management team, the prevailance of the ups and downs since the idea to open a branch in the city came about in the 80's: "We thought that Madrid didn't want us, until we decided to clasify our client database by towns and discovered that many of the which started with a 28 code did in fact want us. Or at least shopped in our store, which was a good way to start". |

| The Espuñes factory in 1920 |

With tenacity and enthiusiasm we've managed to settle in a place which meets all our wishes. It's a listed building in the heart of the Salamanca neighbourhood, which despite its ruined aspect, "it sure made our adrenalin run high".
It was the factory's headquarts since the 1920's until 1995, the building is located in the middle of an interior courtyard on Castelló street (between Goya and Jorge Juan). This is how the dream to offer our products in Madrid came true, as is the case for Barcelona, embraced in a historic building with the intention to show a vision of current design through architectural heritage. The perfect harmony. Declared a building of interest by the city council. |

| Finding the place... |
After nine long years of hard work to find the right space for the shop project, it was carfefully restored until its original character was given back. It was two years of meticulous work with spectacular results.
For all it’s trajectory Vinçon received the National Prize of Design. |

| ...two years on the building site... |
The building situated in the Salamanca neighbourhood was part of the of the factory established in 1895 by the Espuñes family. Built to locate their silversmiths. At the beginning of the century it began to produce its own energy which was distributed locally. It was later taken over by Compañia Unión Electrica Madrileña. |
